Welcome to 2019
President Krislov discusses recent exciting developments on campus, and previews what lies ahead for what’s shaping up to be a great year for Pace.
Welcome back. I hope you had a wonderful break.
The big news as we start this semester is some of the biggest news to hit this University in a little while. Last Monday morning, we officially opened the transformed spaces at One Pace Plaza and 41 Park Row. Everyone who has seen the renovations has been, like me, overwhelmed by just how great everything looks. We’ve added new, high-tech learning facilities and great new student and faculty spaces. We tore down concrete walls and replaced them with glass ones, to open Pace up to New York City. A Pace education is all about connecting students with real-world opportunities in the greatest metropolitan area in the world, and I love that we’re now making that relationship so apparent by opening views from our buildings out on City Hall and the Brooklyn Bridge—and by allowing our neighbors to look in on us.
This big undertaking, coming just after the amazing transformation of our Pleasantville campus, is a powerful symbol of Pace’s commitment to our future. All of us who work here—faculty, staff, administration—we’re all here to help students succeed. These new facilities will us all do even more to help students on their Pace Path.
On February 25, I’ll be giving my first-ever State of the University address, talking in more detail about what we’re doing to push Pace forward. I’ll speak on all three campuses, with a livestream available to let you catch me at a different time if you can’t make the speech on your campus. We’ll be providing more information about that soon. I hope I’ll see you there, and I hope you’ll come prepared for questions.
In the meantime, have a wonderful semester. I hope I’ll see you on the 25th.
