Paces Gets Poetic
Poetry returns to Pace with the Spring 2016 Poets@Pace reading, featuring acclaimed poets Gary Lenhart and Eileen Myles.
Save the date of Monday, April 11, because for one night only, the Bianco Room will wax poetic as two accomplished and acclaimed poets, Gary Lenhart and Eileen Myles, deliver the Spring 2016 Poets@Pace reading from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Refreshments will following the reading, as well as a Q&A and book signing with Lenhart and Myles.
Gary Lenhart has published six books of poetry, most recently The World in a Minute, and two prose collections: Another Look and The Stamp of Class: Reflections on Poetry and Social Class. From the mid-80s through the mid-90s, he was the associate director of Teachers & Writers Collaborative in NYC. For the past 24 years, he has lived in Vermont and taught at Dartmouth College.
Eileen Myles, poet, novelist, performer, and opera librettist, is the author of 19 books, including I Must be Living Twice: New & Selected Poems and Chelsea Girls. Her honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship, three Lambda Book Awards, among others. She edited the poetry magazine dodgems, and co-edited the feminist anthology Ladies Museum as well as The New Fuck You: Adventures in Lesbian Reading. She is a professor emeritus and former director of the writing program at the University of California, San Diego.
Poets@Pace brings important poets to the Pace NYC Campus each semester and is organized by Pace Poet-in-Residence Charles North and sponsored by the Office of the Provost.
