Get ready to give a whole lot of thanks! The Pace Community is coming together to offer several opportunities not only to enjoy great food, but also to volunteer for local charities.
It’s that time again! With the holiday season rapidly approaching, the PLV and NYC Campus are prepping plenty of turkey, stuffing, and charity work—all the makings of a hearty and heartfelt Thanksgiving. If you’re looking to get involved (and eat good food!), stop by these events. You’ll be full of love by the end of it!

LGBTQA and Social Justice Center Annual Potluck (NYC)
3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 810
Join the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center for their fifth annual potluck! There will be plenty of food, friends, and fun, not to mention making care kits and note cards, which will go to the Ali Forney LGBTQA youth homeless shelter. You’re welcome to bring a dish if you want!
Dinner with Seidenberg and the Pforzheimer Honors College (NYC)
5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m. | 163 William Street, 2nd Floor
Every year, Seidenberg teams up with the Pforzheimer Honors College to provide their students with a delicious Thanksgiving dinner—all while collecting canned food to donate! Get your appetite and donations ready before heading over to enjoy an evening of philanthropy. You must be a Seidenberg and/or Honors College student to attend. Please bring a can or dish!
Friday, November 17
Volunteer at Added Value Farm (NYC)
8:30 a.m.–9:30 a.m. | Register for details
Join Student Leader in Service Duke Huang for a morning of service at Added Value Farm! Volunteers will help with composting at the largest community composting program in the United States that runs entirely on renewable resources—human power or solar power—with over 1,900 volunteers each year. You’ll get a free gym workout, help the farm compost local organic material that includes GrowNYC’s Greenmarkets collections, create the “black gold” that grows healthful food locally for the Red Hook neighborhood, and support the environment by recovering organics that are otherwise trucked far away.
To register, please email Duke Huang.
Sunday, November 19
93 Days of Christmas (PLV)
6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. | Kessel Setter’s Café

Stop by for what’s sure to be a competitive gingerbread making contest as well as pictures with Santa. Admission is either a toy or $5. All toys will be donated to children in need and all other proceeds will go to the honor society.
