Faculty Success Stories: June 2019
Grants are abound for Pace faculty this month, as the Land Use Law Center and Food and Beverage Clinic continue to elevate the stature and excellent work of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law.
Deputy Director of the Land Use Law Center and Adjunct Professor at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law Tiffany Zezula, JD, received a grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to fund a Land Use Leadership Alliance training program, which will foster sustainable land use patterns to protect important environmental resources within Albany County. Overall, the Land Use Law Center received over $80,000 in public and private grants.
College of Health Professions Assistant Dean Sophie Kaufman, DPS, received a $30,000 grant from the Rudin Foundation to support primary care training. Specifically, the award will provide three students with scholarships for the physician assistant of the family nurse practitioner programs.
Elisabeth Haub School of Law Professor and Director of the Pace Food and Beverage Law Clinic Jonathan Brown, JD, was awarded funds from the American Farmland Trust, which will provide legal services to farming, food, and beverages businesses. Pace’s Food and Beverage Law Clinic, which provides transactional legal services to small- and medium-sized farms, food and beverage business owners, and nonprofits, has enabled the Elisbaeth Haub School of Law to become one of the region’s most impactful and influential entities in the emerging field of food law.
