ALUMNI SUCCESS
"My internship at New York Life has not only helped me narrow my career choices, but has also made me a stronger candidate for the field I want to work in. Working at NYL has given me the opportunity to interact with executives in different departments, from Investment to Legal. When I hear the role the executive plays, I ask myself if I can envision being in that role. When the answer is yes, I get closer to my career choice. The technical and analytical skills I developed and improved during this internship will always be to my benefit, no matter what career path I choose."
- Choenyi Gangshar, Class of 2017, Portfolio Analytics Specialist, New York Life Investments
"I've seen the transformation of the whole industry from IBM to Apple and Google. We're just on the cusp of what's coming—things like wireless electricity... Students have the view that their first job is also their last job. I tell them that their first job is their first job, and that they'll probably have a dozen jobs over the course of their career. Don't fall in love with your first job; you may miss out on great opportunities."
