NBCUniversal | PACE UNIVERSITY
Lights, Camera, Action
NBCUniversal is a top U.S. entertainment and media company that markets, develops, and produces news, information, and entertainment for a worldwide audience. Home to some of the most popular channels and subsidiaries in the country including Bravo, Telemundo, NBC News, Esquire Network, and The Weather Channel, as well as Universal Studios theme parks, and even internet-based businesses like Hulu, NBCUniversal is headquartered near Pace in the iconic Rockefeller Center in New York City, making it a top employer of undergraduate interns.
With such a robust internship program, NBCUniversal offers opportunities for students in fields as varied as communications, film and screen studies, English, marketing, and even psychology. Those students who have found themselves interning at the media company have called their experiences dreams come true. Communications student Kristie Dash ’14 has been lucky enough to intern for NBCUniversal twice, once at Peacock Productions during her sophomore year and more recently at E! News last summer. “My life is a dream right now and it’s all because of Pace University,” she says, citing guidance from Career Services as an essential part of her success.
But students don’t need to bother with the crowds at 30 Rock to see the lights, camera, and action happening at NBCUniversal. Pace maintains a relationship with the company through the Emmy-award winning series Inside the Actors Studio, filmed right here at Pace. The show, which airs on Bravo, is part of the master’s degree program at the world-renowned Actors Studio Drama School. Pace students have had a chance to interview some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, the cast of Glee, and Tina Fey to name a few.
Plus, in March 2014, students organized an NBCUniversal information session, where company employees, internship recruiters, and interns visited the Pace campus to talk about internship opportunities and recruit Pace students for the famous NBC Page Program.
