Get ready to celebrate Hanukkah with Hillel at Pace on December 8 and learn more about the organization in this Q&A!
Pace’s NYC chapter of Hillel—which offers a community for Jewish students to come together through community service opportunities, events, and much more—is gearing up for one of their biggest events of the year, their Hanukkah celebration! Hanukkah with Hillel will take place on Thursday, December 8, from 3:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. in the Student Union. Read more about the event and learn about how you can get involved with Hillel in this Q&A with the organization’s president, Liz Corbett.
Q: What does your organization offer to Pace and Pace students?
A: We offer a community for Jewish students on campus and the opportunity to learn more about Judaism for anyone interested. We have events for all of the major Jewish holidays, monthly meetings, community service opportunities, and fun day trips which benefit our members and the Pace Community.
Q: What events do you have coming up for Hanukkah and how can students get involved?
A: Hanukkah with Hillel will be on Thursday, December 8, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Student Union! It’s going to be a HUGE event with lots of food including latkes, brisket, chicken, dreidel games, gelt, and Hanukkah fun! For more information, join us on Orgsync, or follow us on Facebook or Instagram (@pacehillel). If you want to get involved, please e-mail us at email@example.com or reach out to Liz Corbett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: Why should people join your organization?
A: We offer a safe place for Jewish students on campus and provide education for non-Jewish students who are interested in exploring Judaism. We are open to all students who want to learn more about the Jewish community or be more involved.
Q: What signature events and achievements are you guys planning/known for?
A: We have events for all of the major Jewish holidays including Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, and Hanukkah. Every semester, we kick things off with a Bagels and Lox Mixer, and we saw Fiddler on the Roof last year. For next semester, we are planning a lot of day trips and exciting events—stay tuned for more information!
Q: If you could describe your club in a few words, what would they be?
A: Jews having fun!
Q: What are the goals of the organization?
A: We are here to provide opportunities for Jewish students to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity. We offer support to Jewish college students and friends by providing them with an outlet and a place to come together to practice Judaism, to celebrate holidays, and to be together.
