Super Bowl sundaes for seniors, flower grams for our favorite grams, technology for teaching and learning—find out how Pace students are making a difference in their local communities.
Super Bowl Sundaes for Seniors
Members of the Pace University Football Team took time out of their Super Bowl Sunday to visit with the residents of the Atria Briarcliff Manor senior living home. Running backs coach Joseph Hawkins and the group, consisting of Myles Martin, Mohammad Masoud, Joshua Senford, Jhalen Bien-Aime, Tyler Mason, Anthony Abbondanza, Jorge Geronimo, and Prince Unaegbu, visited Atria to spend a few hours with its residents, and even made sundaes for them.
Special Flower (Gram) Delivery
These roses are read. Not like violets, they’re blue. The seniors, they love them. Their juniors do, too. The National Residence Hall Honorary and North Hall teamed up to make Valentine’s Day roses with secret messages for the folks of the Atria nursing home.
House of Birthday Cards
Students stopped by the Center for Community Action and Research in PLV’s table to make birthday cards for the Westchester Jewish Community Services, a nonprofit human service agency dedicated to helping people of all ages cope with emotional, cognitive, environmental, physical, social, and educational challenges.
The Isaac Newton Middle School for Math and Science recently received a $1 million grant from Apple to make sure each student at the school is equipped with an iPad to help them engage better with their education. Top Seidenberg graduate students Bhushan Suryawanshi, Jigar Mehta, Hardik Patel, Dhruvil Gandhi, and Pratik Dhiman have been visiting the school to provide support with getting its technical infrastructure up and running. Together, the students are modifying existing smart class and smart board tech to get it on par with the requirements, the school’s computer lab is also being modified to a greater standard, and they are setting up the iPads and classrooms for new tech.
