From drag bingo to an evening with HGTV’s The Crafty Lumberjacks, the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center has a sizzling series of September events.
Want to get more involved with the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center? The Center has been hard at work prepping a fantastic lineup of events and workshops for LGBTQA+ students. Here’s a look at everything going on in the month of September:
Mixer and Crafting with the Crafty Lumberjacks
Thursday, September 7 | 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
Meet LGBTQA+ students and allies for an evening of crafting with none other than HGTV’s the Crafty Lumberjacks. Make some colorful creations with Andrew and Dennis, and chat with some of your future best friends and college confidants.
Queer Crafts Series
Every Friday in September | 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
Whether you’re into tie-dye shirts, melted crayon art, buttons, or just good company, the Center will be hosting a crafts series every Friday this month. If you want to pop in, make some friends, and leave one outfit richer than you were before, this may be just your kind of event.
Big Gay Ice Cream Outing
Sunday, September 10 | 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. | Meet at 41 Park Row, Room 902
Meet at the Center for a trip to Big Gay Ice Cream in the West Village, largely considered one of the best ice cream shops in the city. Sample a Bea Arthur or Salty Pimp, and see what all the fuss is about!

New to campus and looking to meet other LGBTQA+ students? Want to learn more about the Center, get to know some of the staff, and maybe even work there? This mixer will feature pizza, games, and will be sure to rid you of any lingering first-year nerves.
Vogue with Cesar Valentino

All shapes and sizes are welcome for what will prove to be a fabulous and empowering night of dance with the legendary Cesar Valentino of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Let loose and come vogue!

Who doesn’t love a good game of bingo especially when it’s paired with a world-famous drag queen? Sashay your way over to the Bianco Room for Drag Queen Bingo featuring a drag queen from Ru Paul’s Drag Race. ‘Nuff said.
Connect Welcome Back Gay/Bi/Queer Men's Mixer

Connect is a new group for gay, bi, and queer-identified men at Pace. Learn more about the group and their plans for queer-oriented outings across the city and finding out how to have safer queer sex at one of two mixers! The group is open to all queer-identified men at Pace and will be as inclusive and intersectional in its work and fun as possible.

The Center will be hosting a Babeland workshop focused on sex positivity, consent, and other topics relevant to LGBTQA+ college students. The workshop will also allow time for students to (anonymously) ask questions about sex you always wanted to know from a Babeland expert.
Q-POC Trip to Nuyorican Poets Cafe
Friday, September 29 | 9:00 p.m. | Meet at 41 Park Row, Room 902
Join QPOC-C for a poetry slam at Nuyorican Poets Cafe. If you are a queer or trans person of color then make sure you grab free tickets to this event! Email firstname.lastname@example.org. (Note: you must be a queer or trans person of color and a Pace student, and you must email for tickets.)

Come out and enjoy free lunch and discuss LGBTQA topics, social justice, allyship, health, international issues, intersectionality, and relationships.

A discussion group for college-aged transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals. This group is closed except for the second week of each month, when it's open to allies.
