Poetry to Your Ears (NYC)

Poetry returns to Pace on Monday, November 7, as Poets@Pace presents award-winning poets Thomas Devaney and David Trinidad.
On Monday, November 7, award-winning poets Thomas Devaney and David Trinidad will give the fall 2016 reading in the Poets@Pace series. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. in the Bianco Room on the NYC Campus. It will include a Q&A, a book signing, and refreshments. Poets@Pace, which brings important poets to the Pace’s New York City Campus each semester, is organized by Pace Poet-in-Residence Charles North and sponsored by the Office of the Provost.
Thomas Devaney is the author of five poetry collections, including Runaway Goat Cart (2015), Calamity Jane (2014), and The Picture That Remains (2014). Devaney reviews poetry for The Philadelphia Inquirer, and currently teaches creative writing at Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania. Says Pulitzer Prize-winning poet John Ashbery, “The poems are resonant patches of serious life, almost as buoyant as dreams. Their light graces remain etched in mind.”
David Trinidad is a writer and poet whose published more than a dozen books, most recently this year’s Notes on a Past Life. His poetry has been anthologized in Best American Poetry, The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry, and Postmodern Poetry. The award-winning author has been honored by the Fund of Poetry and the New York Foundation of Arts, and currently teaches creative writing at Columbia College in Chicago. Says acclaimed poet Denise Duhamel, “No one writes nostalgia like Trinidad.”
