A Night at The Office (NYC)
This man won a Golden Globe, is an Academy Award nominee, has starred in countless major Hollywood movies, and starred in one of the most iconic sitcoms of the 21st century. Now, Steve Carell is visiting James Lipton for Inside the Actors Studio!
Great Michael Scott! On Monday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m., Academy Award nominee Steve Carell will be a guest on Inside the Actors Studio at Pace’s Schimmel Center on the NYC Campus.
You may know Carell from his iconic role as the most clueless boss on television; his star-making turn as an odd, yet heartwarming 40 year-old virgin; his chilling, Oscar-level performance in last year’s Foxcatcher; or literally dozens of other major motion pictures.
In recent years, Carell has shown us his versatile and impressive range—one that has put him in elite company. Having been primarily known for his comedic chops, Carell has transitioned to engaging, more dramatic roles over the past half-decade. After leaving The Office, Carell played a heartless stepdad-figure in indie darling The Way, Way Back, which helped pave way for 2014’s Foxcatcher; in which Carell played creepy, erratic billionaire John du Pont. Carell is also starring alongside Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt in The Big Short—a film about last decade’s housing and credit bubble, to be released on December 11.
Carell truly doesn’t have a blank space on his resume. In addition to acting, he has a number of directing, producing, and writing credits, including a co-writing credit alongside Judd Apatow for The 40 Year-Old Virgin. Carell and his wife Nancy are also the creators of the upcoming comedy series Angie Tribeca, which stars Rashida Jones and will be released by TBS on January 17.
