Let's Chat (NYC)
The LGBTQA and Social Justice Center has a semester’s worth of discussion groups for students to speak with each other and share stories about realities and experiences. Which ones will you go to and speak your mind?
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, and Ally (LGBTQA) and Social Justice Center exists to create campus environments that are inclusive and supportive of student, staff, and faculty diversity in the areas of sexuality and gender identity and expression. And they’ve got multiple opportunities for you to express yourself and speak up about your experiences at various discussion groups.
Out to Lunch
Mondays at 12:10 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
Lunch is served! Come discuss your experiences of coming out with us. No matter how long (or short) you have been out, come chat about things like living a double life, coming out as trans*, and coming out to extended family.
T*-Time: A Discussion Series for Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Individuals
Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
T*-Time is a discussion series, run by a student with transgender guest speakers, for trans* and gender non-conforming folks. Trans* encompasses the many diverse identities that exist under and outside of the transgender umbrella. This includes, but is not limited to, transgender, genderqueer, agender, genderless, genderf*ck, third gender, two spirit, bigender, nongendered, and those who are questioning their gender identity. Please note: This space is closed to trans* students, with the exception of the last Tuesday of the month, which is open to allies who want to learn more! If you are interested in joining this group, contact email@example.com.
Queer Body Rock
Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
Queer people don't always take care of their bodies, yet we live in a world where our bodies are constantly being brought up! Every week, come move your body in queer friendly ways—no body shaming! We will also address how to yoga if you are tucking/binding, Vogue classes, and zumba for all body sizes.
Wednesdays at 12:10 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
The mission of the Lavender Ladies: Women Who Love Women, is to provide an environment where women identified people who love women identified people feel safe and supported by their peers. This organization seeks to bring visibility to queer women on campus and inspire pride among women at Pace who may otherwise feel isolated from their peer group.
Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
The Pace Stonewall Coalition's goal is to come together to stop hate by sharing differences, voicing difficulties, spreading gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender awareness, as well as awareness of diversity, not of sexual orientation, but of race, gender, class, and culture. As we meet, we realize that, even through our differences, we are very similar as human beings and we need to put an end to prejudice altogether.
Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
Whether you are a 0 or a 6 on the Kinsey scale, this group is for folks who identify as non-monosexual—i.e. pansexual, queer, asexual, same gender loving, and more! Come find a place to discuss your orientation.
Fridays at 12:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
Come chill for open discussion and chat about whatever is on your mind!
Queer People of Color-Collective (QPOC-C)
Fridays at 1:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, Room 902
Join the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center and the Office of Multicultural Affairs for a series of facilitated conversations that celebrate, empower, and create space for queer people of color to share stories, experiences, and create community. The QPOC-C will instigate dialogue around important topics that impact QPOC identity development, academic, and professional life and relationships. Conversations will be facilitated by Denise B. Santiago, PhD, and other amazing QPOC guest speakers to share in your lived experiences. Please Note: This is a closed group for QPOC-identifying students only.
