The Dodge Ball (NYC)
It's time for some all-star dodgeball for an incredible cause. Would you pay $10 to see Dr. Ian Smith, Jill Henessey, former Miss New York, and more play some dodgeball in our NYC Campus Gym to raise money for the homeless around Thanksgiving?
Did you know that there are more than 60,670 homeless people each night in the NYC shelter system?
On Thursday, November 19, join celebrities and the Pace Community as Sandlot Sports NYC presents The Dodge Ball in the Gym on the NYC Campus.
The exhibition game will start at 6:30 p.m. featuring some Pace celebrities including Dean for Students Marijo Russell O'Grady, PhD.
The celebrity/all-star game will start at 7:15 p.m., where you'll see members of the US National Dodgeball team take on celebrities including:
Jill Hennessy, singer-songwriter and actress (Law & Order, Crossing Jordan)
Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author, TV personality, and physician
Elizabeth Tam, 2012 Miss New York
Grandmaster Melle Mel, hip-hop musician and former lead rapper and songwriter for Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
Kurtis Blow, rapper and record producer
Jax, 2015 American Idol top 12
Proceeds from Sandlot Sports NYC's 1st Annual Charity Dodgeball Game will all go to Project SHARE's "Thankskgiving Dinner for the Homeless." The goal is to feed an unprecedented 1,000 local Westchester County and New York City men, women, and children with a home-cooked meal, in addition to handing out 1,000 waterproof fleece-lined blankets, made right here in the US.
Swag, giveaways…and if you’re lucky, some audience members will get to play out on the court too! Purchase your tickets here.
Let's play it forward!
