Crazy for 50 Days (PLV)

News Story

50 Days and 50 Nights is getting into the fall spirit this week with Halloween treats and crafts, and exciting entertainment including step dance instruction and a drag show.

Have no fright for 50 Days and 50 Nights this week! SDCA on the PLV Campus is ready to bring on the fall fun with Halloween parties and treats, poetry sessions, cook-offs, and more.

Monday, October 24

Don’t Come to This Event
9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Kessel, Gottesman
A reverse-intentioned title with a twist from the brothers of Pi Lambda Phi.

Tuesday, October 25

Minority Report
9:10 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Lienhard Lecture Hall
The Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS) will discuss the obstacles that minorities face at school, work, and everyday life to help spread diversity awareness. 

Wednesday, October 26

Cupcake Combat
12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m. | Boudreau Lounge
Have you always wanted to compete on Cupcake Wars? Put your skills to the test in this cupcake competition. The winner will receive a gift card… sweet deal!

Caught Green Handed
11:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. | Kessel Tabling
Plastic can stick with us longer than you think. The environmental damage that plastic causes affects the community, but we have what it takes to use less and make a positive difference. Learn more at this informational table in Kessel.

Battle of the Chefs
11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. | Fern Dining Patio (weather permitting)
Chefs will put their skills on the chopping block in an attempt to reign supreme at the Battle of the Chefs hosted by Chartwells. A special guest star chef is set to make an appearance.

Simon Says

Simon Says step! Join the 808s in this fun and instructive event where students can learn the basics needed to step dance.

Happy Hour: Lady Caress (Spoken Word/Coffeehouse)
8:00 p.m. | Boudreau Lounge
Get ready to be entertained with a mix of poetry, comedy, music, beat boxing, and storytelling from Lady Caress—featured on season four of Verses and Flow and the BET 365 Black Awards.

Lambda Treat

Think you’re too old for trick-or-treating? Well you’re certainly never too old for Halloween treats! Join Lambda Upsilon Lambda for some spooky sweet Halloween goodies at this party in Willcox.

Tuesday, November 1

Shatter the Stigma

Shatter the Stigma is Omega Phi Beta’s first event for its Serving and Educating Week. During this event, they will discuss the top five most common mental health illnesses amongst college students. In addition, the sisters will examine common stigmas and truths about each illness.

PLV Undergraduate Community Meeting
12:15 p.m.–1:20 p.m. | Kessel, Gottesman
Join the Student Government Association for this meeting that will host and answer questions, comments, and concerns for the campus community.  

Wednesday, November 2

Speak Soleil

Want to peek into the world of poetry? Speak Soleil is an event hosted by Omega Phi Beta that aims to expose students to different talents in the world of spoken poetry and other arts.

Fabulosity
9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Willcox, Multipurpose Room
Get ready to break out the stilettos, sequins, and star performances at the PLV Campus’ annual drag show, Fabulosity!
