Celebrating a Legacy (PLV)
On Friday, January 27, the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Diversity Programs hosts internationally acclaimed scholar, professor, author, and public speaker Tricia Rose, PhD, for its 17th annual MLK Day commemorative brunch in PLV.
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Join the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Diversity Programs for the 17th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Brunch featuring keynote speaker Tricia Rose, PhD. In her website bio, she says she has chosen to teach, write, think, and engage in dialogue because the world in which we live requires that we contribute to the interminable struggle for social justice, creativity, and growth.
During her presentation at Pace, Rose will discuss the Black Lives Matter movement, race, the presidential election, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Rose is a professor of Africana Studies and the director of the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America at Brown University. In addition to her duties at Brown, Rose sits on the boards of the Nathan Cummings Foundation, Color of Change, and Black Girls Rock, Inc.
