Blackboard Collaborate is now accessible to the entire Pace community. The web conferencing tool has a classroom feel with features such as the whiteboard, breakout groups, and polling. Collaborate’s interactive atmosphere makes it an excellent component for online and blended courses of all disciplines. The Center for Digital Storytelling (DS) defines DS as “a short, first person video-narrative, created by combining recorded voice, still and moving images, and music or other sounds.” (see the Website: http://www.storycenter.org/ ). The multimedia use of narrative has many pedagogical possibilities across disciplines and fits very well with Dyson College’s emphasis on High Impact Practices as well as its interest in exploring digital literacies. It has been used by faculty in schools across the country in many ways, including to enhance research, create an argument, and showcase community-based learning activities.
Students and faculty can create brief videos using free basic software: Windows Moviemaker, is easily downloaded on a PC (The MAC version is iMovie), and can be found on all computers in the Pace Academic Computing labs.

Digital Measures allows faculty members to showcase their achievements (such as publications, presentations, community engagement, grants, etc.) on the Pace website. This information is used to attract the best faculty and students by displaying the caliber of our faculty. Digital Measures also includes a reporting tool to administer critical information pertaining to faculty achievements, assessment, and accreditation.
