Update: Arrest of Suspect in Connection with Saturday Explosion in Chelsea
September 18, 2016
A message to the Pace Community about the September 17 explosion in Chelsea
As the Executive Director of Safety and Security, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Pace University and briefly describe how we work to provide a safe and secure campus environment.
Our first approach is through the employment of a professional in-house security staff with many years of law enforcement and private security experience.
The second approach is through the use of a top-notch uniform security guard company. Both are on hand 24 hours a day to provide professional support and security services. We have developed an electronic security system, which includes closed circuit television cameras, intrusion alarms, card access readers and an emergency communication system. We are continually improving these systems and studying new technologies being introduced in the security field.
In addition, we have developed a Security Awareness Program. Our staff addresses various groups and uses the Pace Intranet and school newspapers to send alerts, update information and furnish tips on safety and security.
Once again, welcome to Pace University. For more information about Pace Safety and Security, please take the time to read our Annual Security and Fire Safety Report and Pace's Sexual Assault Resources. Remember that safety and security is everyone's business.
